The Creative Change Collective is a team of experienced creative professionals who specialise in working to address social challenges across Scotland. We help people bring about positive change in their lives through creative practices associated with film, theatre and performance.
Established as Street Cones in 2014, we became the Creative Change Collective in September 2022.

What We Do
We use the Arts and Creativity to change lives. Working in partnership with local government, social work departments, the police authorities, housing associations, schools and the third sector, we provide creative opportunities designed to address a range of social issues.
Much of our work focuses on helping people change behaviours likely to lead to contact with the justice system. But we also work with people in recovery, young people, and people facing challenges with mental health or learning disabilities. Encouraging participants to draw on their own lived experience, we guide them through a range of creative activities that help build self-esteem, confidence and life skills.
At the heart of our work is a suite of three flexible 12-week creative programmes, each with a proven track record of success:
Roads to Change — is aimed at adults working towards positive outcomes, and can be offered as part of a community sentence.
Recovering Voices — is designed to support participants in residential and community alcohol and drug recovery programmes.
Something to Say — is aimed at young people engaged in anti-social behaviour or criminality, or at risk of taking that path.
Our Unique 'Anonymous Space' — All our creative programmes are delivered within our unique 'Anonymous Space' which protects personal information. Participants use first names only, and no one reveals which parts of the stories they choose to tell are fictional and which parts are based on real life.
Creative Commissions — We also undertake creative commissions from a wide range of clients, which usually focus on a specific social theme. For example, we have extensive experience in short film production, and place a particular emphasis on lived experience. We also work with clients to design and deliver bespoke projects. Our upcoming stage play, IncludED is the result of a collaboration with Enable Scotland.

Recovering Voices Performance

Free · Run time: 50 minutes (approx)
This performance was devised by participants in one of our 12-week Recovering Voices programmes. Delivered as a variety-style mix of sketches, monologues, spoken word and music, the show provides participants with the opportunity to demonstrate their achievements, celebrate their success, and share lived experience insights with friends, family, support staff and policy makers.

This brand new stage play was devised by a group we led for Enable Scotland at Jean's Bothy, a community mental health and wellbeing hub in Helensburgh. It tells the story of Sally and Jean, two very different women, fighting for the rights of their children, who have learning disabilities.

We use the Arts and Creativity to affect real and positive change in the lives of the people who participate in our programmes.
Usually, our participants have absolutely no interest in the Arts. Often, they don't consider themselves to be creative at all. Instead, we work with people who want to make genuine changes in their lives — to set aside existing perceptions and take on new ideas and experiences.
Since we were established in 2014, our ability to break down barriers has been recognised by clients across Scotland, including East Ayrshire Council, Glasgow City Council, The Highland Council, Police Scotland, Scottish Borders Council and the Scottish Prison Service.

Scott founded the organisation as Street Cones in 2014, bringing together a decade of experience in participatory arts and community development. He leads the creative vision and programme delivery across Scotland.

The Creative Change Collective works across Scotland with people facing adversities, including those in care or at the edge of care, individuals in recovery and those caught in or at risk of entering the justice system. Within this diverse group The Creative Change Collective 'CCC' has developed a unique approach.
Learning from lived experience and constructing a path to change through the Arts, we help achieve more positive outcomes for the individuals, groups, and wider communities we work with.
The delivery team is made up of creative professionals with a wide range of specialisms that include working alongside peer support, mentors, and people with lived experience. Supported by a small back-office team and your fellow board members we often engage with individuals who are not engaging with other services.
CCC believe that the Arts and creativity can be used to give people who are marginalised a voice. The power of story within our unique anonymous setting is an opportunity for our service users to change their lives.
We are seeking new Board members with various skills and experience but would be particularly keen to hear from those with experience in the following areas:
- Lived experience (justice, care, recovery)
- Financial / Accounting / Fundraising
- Working in or background in the Arts
- Legal / HR
- Business Management / Marketing
- Health & Social Care
- Community Development
